I have written articles explaining the ego. I have spoken extensively on how the ego works, and influences our day to day activities. The ego is responsible for all positive and negative human activities in the world. Either of the past, the present, and the future activities.
In one of my articles, i made a distinction between the positive ego, and the negative ego. Read more below.
The madness, brute, greed, and all sorts of insanity actively done by individuals are all linked to the ego. For sanity, and clarity to be restored, the negative ego needs to die and give birth to the positive ego.
In a war of ego, no one wins. It’s an endless battle with everyone involved having a reason for why they need to keep fighting. All lies backed by the ego. In a war of ego, only the “Truth” wins.

Really ego is associated with pride and I’ve seen it break marriages and good relationships.

First we will have to discuss what you mean by pride, because i think pride is a good personality trait everyone should have. Pride is not really the issue here. Ignorance is. The worse kind of individuals are proud ignorant individuals.

Fully agree with you.
Pride in a manner that you are boastful and you feel like you are always right. You don’t even apologise when you’ve done something wrong.

Exactly Sharon, ignorance is the problem.
A wise one will know that while acknowledging one’s own strengths, and abilities, one should also understand one’s own limitations, and conditioning. Wisdom is not in knowing everything, but leaving room for creativity, new experience and ideas.

Yes, I believed the saying the ego means selfishness, jealousy and hatred. Damon
