Loyalty You Cannot Buy

What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

What is loyalty?

Loyalty is a sense of deep commitment to something, or an individual. This often involves a sense of duty, trust, support, most especially in times of challenges.

Loyalty is priceless, it can’t be given by just anyone, yet, it is something everyone wants.

Not everyone can afford loyalty, because it is a form of sacrifice, which requires one to attain an intense level of discipline and selflessness to be able to afford it.

One thing loyalty is not, is blind obedience. Many people might think, that the concept of loyalty would be total commitment at the expense one’s own personal values and ethical standards. This is not the case.

In fact, loyalty is priceless. It cannot be bought. This is why it can only be afforded by those with a certain level of discipline and ethical values. It is a commitment based on an unwritten mutual respect, trust, and understanding.

Loyalty is not slavery, but the opposite of it, because it frees one from the shackles of the ego.

    • Oh, it can be affordable. Just not with money, that would be pretense. Loyalty is priceless, so the cost for it is also priceless.
An example will be, when a bodyguard sacrifices his life for his master, did he do it because of money? Though, he gets paid good money, but a deadman doesn’t need money. He either did it out of loyalty to duty, or loyalty to a deserving master.
