The mind as a concept does not have a universally accepted definition, hence making it a very controversial subject matter. Some believe the mind to be an abstract entity, which influences the physical entity, while some believe the mind is simply the byproduct of the brain’s function. So in essence the mind could be simplified as thoughts and perceptions.
The individual is divided into three parts;
- The Soul, which is pure consciousness (the identity, immortal, eternal).
- The mind, which is thoughts and perceptions limited to one’s language, experience, educational awareness, beliefs.
- The body, which is the vessel, the physical manifestation and enforcer of one’s will.
According to research, the only thing which set humans apart from the rest of creation is the mind. This hierarchy we didn’t invent, rather we are born with it. Through thousands of years, of struggle and experiences, we have evolved, passing on data and responsibilities to the next generation. These were made possible due to the mind.
You know what they say… with great power, comes great responsibility. When properly used, the mind is the most powerful tool for innovation. Likewise, if left unchecked, the mind is the most powerful tool for destruction.
This is where the consciousness comes in. What does it mean to be conscious? To properly explain this, i would use an analogy; suppose you’re in bed, late at night. You are busy with your mobile phone, so you are trying to push back that feeling of the need to sleep. Then you suddenly realized that for a moment, you lost focus because you were dozing off, and your mind was beginning to wander. This single action of awareness, is consciousness, because it serves as a guide and judge of the mind. Should one follow this pattern further, one could easily deduce why dreams are the way they are.
One could ask, from which standard does the soul judge? The soul itself is judgement, because the soul is the truth. Now, what is the truth? We do not know for certain. The truth is abstract, hence why it is controversial in nature.
The soul is love. Love is the only thing a human is born with. A baby is naturally loving, it wasn’t taught. Everything else is learnt as one gets older. Love can neither be created nor destroyed. You can love a person, and dislike such a person at the same time, because the truth is, you love everybody and you never truly hate anything, just like the child you used to be, only now you have learnt to look out for yourself.
Love is natural, the judgment of all ideas. To love yourself, is to care for your mental health by constantly feeding the soul, which would in return guide the mind.
